The Value of Good Communication

Updated: Oct 25, 2018

Communication is everything when working with nonprofits. The grant writing process can be very intense and requires quite a bit of adaptability. Over the first couple weeks of trying to communicate with a nonprofit I am working with, my partner and I ran into a few issues. The main one being that our emails apparently could not communicate. My partner and I made it important to reach out over the phone and try to solve this issue. Thankfully we were able to come up with a sensible solution over the phone so then we could keep an open line of communication throughout working with the agency.

Communication is vital to the success to any company or organization. It is something that many organizations struggle with and need constant improvement in. In class we have learned how important it is for us to keep in contact with our nonprofit organization. They will be the source of all the knowledge we need in order to write the grant proposal, in hopes of aiding their projects and missions.

Communication with the organization is almost as important as it is with myself and my partner. If my partner and I do not have the ability to communicate well then our grant and the organization we work with will suffer. Communication is vital not only to the grant’s success, but for the success of the class as a whole. I have confidence that my classmates understand the important role it plays, and will be able to carry it out effectively.
